About the project
Scientific Compass UP is a public bibliometric portal for the research community of Palacký University Olomouc. It helps researchers navigate journals and their bibliometric indicators.
Who is behind it
The portal is operated by Palacký University Olomouc. It serves the UPOL research community as a tool for navigating publication channels.
Where the data comes from
The data is prepared by the ScientiaRank engine, which builds versioned, read-only snapshots from public and licensed sources. The portal only loads and displays these snapshots — it does not recompute or alter the figures shown.
An open technology base
The portal is built on open technologies: a frontend in Next.js and React, an API in FastAPI, and a PostgreSQL data store. The source code is open.
